dosbox-x have emulation of 3dfx trough opengl.
its locked on 640x480
i can apply anisotropic filtering or antialiasing in nvidia control panel, so there is really a wrapper+emulator hybrid for staticaly linked 3dfx games, if only i can force higher resolution, i know anomalities is appear but its not huge as described.
want to experiement here
Support more glide resolutions

Re: Support more glide resolutions
no, statically linked games do not go with wrappers like nGlide
they only can work in full emulation.
dosbox-x have full 3dfx voodoo emulation, and ability to remap Glide API to OpenGL
so it works like hybrid emulator+wrapper, the dosbox-x in this case ca't use third party dll's , wrappers, plugins, etc.
In this mode everything is processed by dosbox-x internally except is calls to OpenGL dll , and it not as backend on top of software renderer, its actually exchange with OpenGL all the 3d data.
Is there why antialiasing and anisotropic filtering is working, including other OpenGL32.dll's that use shaders or effect's
like QEffectsGL
Only one problem =( i don't know any of third party OpenGL32.dll that can force resolution from any to my prefered
