Undying Widescreen

Post by Silver83 »

There is a widescreen patch for Undying (http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Clive_Bark ... resolution) but sadly it isn't usable with nglide because there are only two options (4:3 and stretched) in nglide settings and the new resolutions enabled ingame can't be chosen.

Any idea how to use that patch with nglide?

EDIT:

I just found your quote:
"P.S. Extended resolutions has been added also to glide.dll and glide2x.dll in case you (or somebody else) will decide to patch some other games in the future. grQueryResolutions export has been added to glide.dll/glide2x.dll.
Aspect ratio calculations for forced resolutions via nGlide configurator / nGlide environment variables have been fixed. Aspect ratio = "4:3" in configurator will be renamed to "Preserve original" in the next official release (1.05)."

So I guess I just have to wait :)

The patch you mention in the first paragraph is for D3D only.

For Glide such patch doesn't exist. nGlide 1.05 will add the ability to render at custom resolutions, but the feature won't be usable unless somebody makes necessary changes to game Glide renderer (like VEG did for NFS3).

Thanks for the reply. I had seen that the instructions mentioned switching to D3D but I assumed it was because of nglides limitations. Well, I'll try to contact the author of the widescreen patch. Maybe he is willing to change it for glide.

This has now been implemented, thanks to Zeus for sending me the development version. I will publish a new version of the widescreen fix that incorporates this patch once 1.05 is released.

I know I reported the shadow bug a long time ago? Are there any news regarding this issue?

Don't pay any attention to the wrong wrong colors...I had to brighten up the image.

We were both wrong back then.

The issue was present with all graphics cards and there wasn't any improvement with nGlide 1.02.
More importantly, the bug occurred also with original hardware (Glide) and D3D mode.

So yeah, our famous bug turned out to be a feature.

That is rather unfortunate. Thanks for the reply, though.

Btw: I just finished Undying with the new widescreen patch together with the detail tetxure updater. It was an amazing experience when comapred to my first playthrough back on a Pentium 3.
