Incubation in 3DFX gives a black screen ingame.
The main menu is the only thing that works.
Ingame the screen is black and only the mouse cursor and the placement dots of the players show.
Running in Normal mode, the game will not show the main menu (Black screen)
Windows 7 X86/X64
4 GB DDR3 Ram 1600 MHZ
Crossfire Ati Radeon HD 5770
Running patched 1.03 version.
Any help would be appreciated
Thank you in advance!
PS:
Thanks alot for a GREAT glide wrapper!
Another problem is NFS 2 SE
Running it works fine under 3DFX, but the sound is "crackling"
You don't suppose this has anything to do with the wrapper?
It dissapears after a while, returns, and then dissapears again.
It's weird

Re: Incubation
Hi MPXLBS.
For me Incubation works fine on Windows XP/Windows 7 x86/Windows 7 x64 and GF9800GT.
Do you have a possibility to test this game on Windows XP 32-bit?
Download this zip and run test04.exe and test11.exe.
Do you see red-green-blue triangle in test04 and colorful box blinking in random places (one at a time) with 'passed readback test' text in test11?
Did you try to run the game with Windows 95 compatibility mode?
Did you try at least 3 versions of your graphics driver?
Do you have final release of Windows 7 (not beta)?
BTW: sound works good on Windows XP. For Windows 7 someone must find a solution.
Does problem occur on both systems (Windows 7 x86 and Windows 7 x64)?Ingame the screen is black and only the mouse cursor and the placement dots of the players show.

Re: Incubation
Test 4 and 11 works.
Pictue is from x64..
Same is on x86 except from the cursor trail
Running 10.1
W7 Final. Win 95 comp. Just 10.1 (ati catalyst).
Re: Incubation
This is JSF also...seems to be the same problem?
Either way, Need for Speed 2 SE works excellent
This is BTW. a fresh install of both Windows 7 X86 and X64.
All drivers and all updates are installed. No problems whatsoever.
I'm starting to think it has something to do with me having an ATI 5770 in crossfire mode.
Another:
Menu and DirectX mode works fine.
Changing game options to or from 800x600 doesn't do anything.
Nor does the compability tab (IE Windows 95, Disable composition, etc)
EDIT:
Having upgraded to 10.2
I tried running the game again, same stuff happened.
Although, If I put Catalyst AI on, the game would crash instantly, so it seems that it's an catalyst AI issue.

Re: Incubation
To be checked.
Re: Incubation
Try turning off Crossfire or use a different Crossfire mode, they are known to cause issues for some 3D programs new and old. Also try to disable all extra cores on your CPU or for a permanent solution patch the EXE with imagecfg.exe to use only a single thread.
Re: Incubation
just checked with 0.98 and Incubation runs almost flawlessly, apart from the save/load menu-when you open it,the cursor will leave a trace:
Re: Incubation
just updated from 0.99 to 1.02, and while the smearing cursor in the menu problem is indeed fixed, it seems like the game is internally running in the 640*480 resolution, despite 1920*1200 being selected in the configurator. first screen is from 0.99, second from 1.02, notice the low resolution pixelated look;
Re: Incubation
Thanks. The problem will be fixed in the next release.
