Elder Scrolls Redguard

Post by gig_m4j0r »

It seems that after XP, this game was forgotten. I do not see the game on the compatibility list at all. Does anyone know if it works?

OK, so I have to install Ykhwong's build, then the patch, then nGlide. Do I understand this correctly?

Glide patch is already included in ykhwong's build.

Instructions:

1) Download and extract Ykhwong's DOSBox build

2) Delete glide2x.dll from DOSBox folder

3) Download and install nGlide

4) Edit dosbox.conf (set memsize=63 and fullscreen=true and add this to [autoexec] section):
mount c c:\mygames
mount d f:\ -t cdrom -noioctl
If you don't know what these two lines mean, here's official DOSBox tutorial.

5) Run dosbox.exe and under console install game, then run RGFX.EXE from game dir.

Right, but on that page, that build has a small "patch" that comes as a separate download. Does that do anything or is the dosbox download enough?

Small patch is not required. It just updates dosbox build from 2011-05-25 to 2011-06-01.

Use this method.
Unfortunately, installer for DOS not exists for this game.
Another two DOS glide games without installer for DOS are: Battlecruiser 3000 AD 2.0 and EF 2000 2.0 (GFX+ patch is windows only).

The game seems to work. However, it does not play the FVMs and there is not sound. I think that sapucdex can fix the FMV issue, but VDM sound does not work for 7. Any way around this?
