AA works perfectly with nglide 0.93 but later versions don't work.

Fixed in nGlide 0.97.

seems like the issue has been reintroduced in 0.98, even though FSAA is forced via the control panel, the edges are sharp ingame.

btw, having FSAA/AF controls in the wrapper config utility would be beyond awesome.

No, it hasn't. AA works fine with 0.98.

Yes, but this won't happen due to some Direct3D9 limitations. AA from the panel bypasses those limitations and introduces new AA methods like MLAA.

well, it does not seem to be working for me - FSAA 4x forced from the catalyst control center:

dgvoodoo (working correctly):

nglide (clearly no FSAA):

any idea what could be wrong? the graphics card is an ati x1950pro, cat9.11 driver,xpsp3.

thanks..

Any difference with Catalyst 10.2?

catalyst 10.2 has one issue - the FSAA controls are broken. that's exactly why I'm using 9.11.

edit: it actually works fine, the issue is not with the driver, but with the resolution-seems like 1920*1200 is too high for running dx6 games with FSAA, as long as I lower it a bit, forcing FSAA through the panel works again.

tried on a radeon hd4770 with the latest xp driver, FSAA works, but only when I disable AF. so definitely something fishy going on.

it's not like intel or nvidia are flawless either. tried out catalyst 10.2, same problem - with dgvoodoo FSAA works fine, with nglide not at all.

anyway, that is why it would be great if the wrapper could call the FSAA (and/or AF) funcionality directly - while forcing FSAA through the control panel is prone to failing, an internal implementation should work nicely all the time. I'm no dev myself, but I have helped out with some other projects in the past (an updated dx9 renderer for a game), and if I understood things correctly, when you are already using dx9, such a functionality should not be hard to implement.

Well, the only "contra" is the current vector of the nGlide development - maximum compatibility. FSAA through glideAPI and full mipmap support (another flaw in the nGlide) are not increasing the compatibility at all. So - in the far future, after all the games will be working perfectly with nGlide...
Asus P4P800 SE/Pentium4 3.2E/2 Gb DDR400 (3-3-3-8),
Radeon HD3850 Agp (Sapphire), Catalyst 14.4 (XpProSp3).
2 Voodoo2 12 MB (SLI), Win2k drivers 1.02.00 (XpProSp3).
