nVidia 3D Vision

Postby Kingping » Mon Jul 05, 2010 5:26 pm

I was trying a few games and to my surprise the emitter logo turned green and
some games like Carmageddon 2, Turok Dinosaur Hunter and Driver even have profiles.
But there was no seperation. Maybe just a minor fix is needed to get 3d vision to do it's magic.
I found this thread. Could be somethin similar...

Yes please make your wrapper work with 3d vision. its so close to functional right now. the emmiter works, there is just no access to nvidia's 3d perspective. even the hot keys work. i would love to play old school descent 3 in stereoscopic 3d with 3d vision. i would even pay for this privilege and or provide QA on the software....

I've made some intensive tests and I'm sure one thing: render targets duplication works okay (no matter if it's programmed or handled by the driver). Something is wrong with depth/convergence parameters (both are 0).

If I had some news I'll post it here.

thanks Zeus for doing the testing. I can also confirm that there is no depth or convergence with 3d vision only activation of the sterio emitter and glasses.

your wrapper works very well. thanks again. my old favorite games work and look much better in Gide than opengl.

tested on:
System:
Intel I7 920 overclocked to 4ghz
Asus Rampage Extreme II
2 Ge-force 480 in SLI
GTX 295 PhysX Card
12gb ddr3 2000mhz ram
Intel SSD in RAID 0
BR RW
1000w Sony surround sound
Mitsubishi 65" DLP 3d HDTV
NVIDIA 3D Vision

Hello Zeus!

First of all thank you for your work on nGlide!

Second, I must join those who plead for making nGlide compatible with 3D Vision. Over one year has passed since the original request and I wonder if there's been any attempt to tackle this?

Thanks again.

Okay, I have good and bad news.

Good - I finally figured out why many DX9 apps (including nGlide) do not present separation with 3D Vision.
Bad news is the reason for this - 3D Vision works only with untransformed vertices.

What about DX9 apps that use transformed vertices? Well, you must ask nVidia staff, if they ever plan to support them with 3D Vision on their forums. That's the only chance.

..and no, I can't use untransformed vertices for nGlide.

I guess its the same with other stereo drivers? Besides 3D Vision, theres TriDef or iZ3D.

Hello, first thank you zeus for the nglide work very well, i try to run nfs 4 with nglide 0.98 and use tridef, with 3d virtual option and work, not perfect but good

nfs3 example tridef

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1PdnCuFhKQ

also test "nfs2 se", "unreal", "undying" and work, always with 3d virtual option activated, in tridef.
Test IZ3D with the same games but the textures look bad, the 3d working but the textures make the game unplayable

unreal example bad textures

iz3d active 3d off

iz3d active 3d on

Image

iz3d active 3d on with nglide 0.94 no corrupt textures

sorry for my english
