5:4 aspect support.

Postby Gamecollector » Wed Jun 08, 2011 4:18 pm

I have LCD monitor with 5:4 matrix (1280x1024).
Unfortunately this LCD only have VGA input, not DVI. So - there is no hardware way or OS drivers way for the 4:3 aspect output. All fullscreen output is stretched vertically (from 960 to 1024 pixels).
With the "screen resolution"=1280x1024 and "aspect ratio"=4:3 - nGlide output is stretched to 1366x1024 and trimmed on the left and right to 1280x1024. The correct way must be: resizing to 1280x960, adding two black borders on the up and down, then displaying.
Can you please add the 5:4 support in 0.97?
Tnx.
Asus P4P800 SE/Pentium4 3.2E/2 Gb DDR400 (3-3-3-8),
Radeon HD3850 Agp (Sapphire), Catalyst 14.4 (XpProSp3).
2 Voodoo2 12 MB (SLI), Win2k drivers 1.02.00 (XpProSp3).

With the "screen resolution"=1280x1024 and "aspect ratio"=4:3

What's the result with 'Aspect ratio'='Fit to screen'?

nGlide output is stretched to 1366x1024

Are you sure it's 1366x1024? I think It's impossible plus nGlide does not trim image. Go into fullscreen once again and make a screenshot. Check it's dimensions and occurence of trimming.

Yes, my error. The output is not trimmed.
With "1280x1024" and "4:3" - the output simply stretched to 1280x1024. With the 5:4 aspect as the final result:

"Supreme Snowboarding" as the test software, 640x480. 1280x1024 ib the nGlide Configurator:

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/4012/supreme43.jpg - with the "4:3".
