Interstate '76 won't even start in Glide. (GOG version on Windows 10 64-Bit)

Hello.

This is an issue that has been bugging me for a while. I cannot seem to get this game to run under Glide at all. What happens is I try to run i76.exe with the compatibility set to Windows 95 and it goes to a black screen then suddenly returns to my desktop. I read somewhere that I had to copy the Glide DLLs from the SysWOW64 folder to the game's directory. I saw the 3dfx logo, but all it did was delay the inevitable and it went back to the desktop shortly after. I then read somewhere else that I had to copy the DDraw.dll to the directory. I tried that and I got the same result.

Any help would be nice. I'm stumped on how to make this work and I wanna play this in the best way possible.

Sometimes windows will "block" files that were downloaded. If you right click on each of the glide files and ddraw files and go to properties, you can "unblock them"

Also try just running the troubleshooting instead of picking windows 95. It set mine to windows xp compatibility not windowns 95.

How do I go about "unblocking" the files?

Right-click (all the glide.dlls and ddraw.dlls) and go to properties. If they are blocked it will say so near the bottom of the window pane. There will be a tick box that says unblock. If they isn't, then the problem is something different.

I have interstate 76 working with glide using dgvoodoo v2.52. I have Nitro working with dgvoodoo 1.50 beta 2.

Yeah it has to be something different. I can't find anything that would say the files are blocked.

I tried it with the I'76 launcher, which included dgVoodoo, and it did the same thing this is doing. I have no idea what the problem is, but I hope I can get it resolved soon.

Find a WinXp/Win7 PC and try the game there.
P.S. All Win8/Win8.1/Win10 users are his/her own worst enemies.

It sounds like the same problem i had. I had to copy 3 files D3D8.dll, D3DImm.dll, and Ddraw.dll into the I76 directory before the game would run using glide. Are those files are present in your i76 directory? I got them from dgvoodoo 2.52 http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2.html

Well. After trying hard for the past few days to get this game to start in Glide, I found a solution though it wasn't the solution I wanted. I got this game to work with the dgVoodoo wrapper by downloading it from the site. Unfortunately now it's in a tiny screen on my big 1080p TV. I tried messing around with the settings but it doesn't seem to want to work. It's a shame too because with nGlide I know I would have been able to play in full 1080p with the right aspect ratio. Thanks for the help. Hopefully Zeus will fix this issue soon cause I really wanted to play this with nGlide. :(

There is nothing to fix in nGlide. The problems with Interstate'76 are not related to nGlide. In another topic, Zeus has already told that
Interstate'76 doesn't utilize Glide for everything (main menu uses DDraw while 3d simulation uses Glide).

Therefore, You have two possible ways
1. Set up a legacy system running Windows XP for this particular game. -OR-
2. Look for additional DDraw wrapper compatible with Windows 10 and Interstate'76.
