Pro Pilot 99

Postby n2prise » Sun Jan 04, 2015 4:31 pm

I have been trying various Glide Wrappers for use with my Lenovo P400 with Intel HD Graphics 4000 video. I see wonderful things happening when I test, BUT Pro Pilot 99 is not activating the GLIDE function in the graphics. The clouds remain as blocks, not smooth textures, etc. What is the status of your work with PP99?

Your post is the only one I have found where anyone mentions Pro Pilot 99 and glide emulators with a measure of success. Can you help me with how you have your settings for this program?

Thank you,

This game uses Glide in Full Screen views only. So I just run the game and press Alt+Enter once. Next runs are Full Screen by default.

Thank you for your quick reply. I put the game in full screen mode, and then nothing but blocky clouds.

I have tried this game in Windows 8.1 on all compatibility modes back to Win95 and the results are always the same, no joy or spinning logos. The Glide emulators I have tried all want to see an NVIDIA video card. Even though I get the information that says this computer has NVIDIA N13P-GLR-GSR there is no joy in Mudville today.

Since OpenGL and DirectX are supposed to be "universal" for modern computers for 3D modes, should not an emulator for 3dfx Voodoo and Banshee GLIDE modes work on these new "non NVIDIA" machines?

Am I wrong, or just looking for something that is "in the works" in the back room?

I tried the Nglide 1.03 with this computer and no joy on the game in 3dfx mode. Is there something I am missing in the installation? Did you install nglide after installing PP99, or before PP99 installation with nglide drivers already in the Windows\system32 directory?

Thank you,

Jerry

Dunno. I think Win8 sucks completely. So I don't use it. And will not use this *censored*.
WinXp, Vista and Win7 - nGlide is used automatically after installing, because it copy glide2x.dll in the %system% directory.
And nGlide works with any DX9 videocard.
So I can't help you.

Do you see 3dfx logo when switching to fullscreen?
Do you have any other glide2x.dll in game folder? If so rename/delete it.

What other games have you tried with nGlide 1.03?
