Requiem: Avenging Angel

Post by Dark Savant » Sat Jun 04, 2011 12:24 pm

I tried to run Requiem: Avenging Angel with nglide yesterday. It does run but crashes in the beginning.

Here is what I did.

- install game from CD
- apply patch v1.2
- apply patch v1.3 3dfx
- apply no-cd patch
- nglide default settings

Game runs OK via software mode but it is ugly as hell. In direct3D it runs well, except from some graphics anomalies in settings menu.

In Glide it crashes during intro scene. Well, I know I can play the game under D3D but it would be nice to play it under Glide. As far as I know glide mode used to be prettiest for most games from that period. :P

Yes, it's not working yet. Thanks for testing.

Tested with my cursed hardware - X850 PE Agp + Catalyst 10.2 + WinXpSp3.
Win98 compatibility for the setup.exe and sysinfo.exe.

1.0 and 1.2 versions - "dx 6 or later is needed".
1.3 - works with glitches.

Glitches are:
1) no menu (Esc in-game) - black screen only.
2) missing letters in the menu. Looks like the slightly wrong resizing.
3) no HUD.

With X850 PE Agp + Catalyst 6.2 + WinME - ctd after the "new game" with the "glide2x.dll error". But - no resizing issue.

Unfortunately 1.3 patch is not 64bit compatible, so I can't test the game with my HD 5730.
Asus P4P800 SE/Pentium4 3.2E/2 GB DDR400 (3-3-3-8),
Radeon HD3850 AGP (Sapphire), Catalyst 14.4 (XpProSp3).
2 Voodoo2 12 MB (SLI), Win2k drivers 1.02.00 (XpProSp3).
