i take it of course that there are no direct draw wrappers out there?

They are, but none of them is compatible with M1TP2 yet.
***********************************************************************************
There is now a ddraw wrapper that works with M1 Tank Platoon II. By placing ddraw.dll and aqrit.cfg in the game folder and toggling one item within aqrit.cfg ColorFix = 1 ... the scrambled palette colors are gone! Of course this does not effect the crashes after missions.

Download web site: http://bitpatch.com/ddwrapper.html
(download link is at the top of the page just below 'Home of Aqrit's ddwrapper')

RealDDrawPath = AUTO
BltMirror = 0
BltNoTearing = 0
ColorFix = 1
DisableHighDpiScaling = 0
FakeVsync = 0
FakeVsyncInterval = 0
ForceBltNoTearing = 0
ForceDirectDrawEmulation = 0
NoVideoMemory = 0
SingleProcAffinity = 0
ShowFPS = 0

Hi everybode

i just want to share my success on bringing M1TP2 on Win7 to life. After fiddling for months with all the great (!) nGlide wrappers and patches and ... i found a hint for DxWnd. So what could possible go wrong...

I tried the current DxWnd version 2.03.35 and it worked nearly perfectly. No distorted colors, no CTD after the missions. The only limitation is that there are no videos (the screen just went to pink for a second) and the windows mouse pointer is always visible on top o the green one from the game.

System setup:
- Win7 Prof. 64bit
- nVidia GTX 750 Ti
- nGlide 1.04 from http://www.zeus-software.com/downloads/nglide
- DxWnd 2.03.35 from http://sourceforge.net/projects/dxwnd/
- tested with M1TP2 1.1 and 1.2

So, maybe you want to give it a try.

Best regards

Hello,

I've been scouring the net and it seems like this one is about the only active discussion on M1 going on that I can find. What I am looking for is the official v1.1 patch for M1 TP2 - I have the v1.2 version but from what I've seen in other discussions many think the v1.1 game is superior - I'd like a chance to see that for myself. Is there anyone that either has it or could point me to where I might find it - every reference to it I've yet found is a dead link currently. I'd be much in your debt - incidentally it was this discussion and my attempts (failed) to get the game up on Win10 x64 that I decided to punt the effort altogether and am instead building a retro 98se / dual boot XP build all centered on a Voodoo 5 5500 AGP card I now have. It's weird how revisiting one's early PC gaming days creates a hankering for when simulations still seemed to center on fun and not just realism... I thank any of you in advance for your help.
Peace
Eric
