GTA 2 Steam overlay issue

Hello i was trying to get gta 2 steam version to work with nglide after running the registry patch from the site , the 3dfx logo shows up and the game works but the steam overlay does not work, is there anything else i should do to get it working ?

nglide version latest

gfx intel hd 3000

windows 10 x64


Edit i had been playing gta 2 using windows 7 x64 before on a different laptop with ati x1400 and overlay was working fine

To make Steam Overlay work for this game on Win10 you need to run Steam as an administrator (1,2) and you cannot have any compatibility mode set for gta 2 exe (3).

1) Exit Steam completely by clicking "Exit" on a Steam tray icon next to the clock
2) Launch Steam as an administrator (right click on Steam icon)
3) Right click on gta 2 exe, then "Properties" -> "Compatibility" tab, checkbox next to "Run this program in compatibility mode..." should be unticked
4) Launch the game from Steam

Thanks for the reply zeus , i tried the above steps and still no dice , the game launches fine with the 3dfx logo and plays fine too but no steam logo attaching picks of the the game exe and steam, could intel hd be blocking anything?

Sorry for the new post but to just make sure this was not related to gta 2 only , i fired up f-16 mrf on steam and same issue, 3dfx works but no steam overlay again it used to work before in windows 7

Nah, I don't think it's Intel.

Are you 100% sure you launched client this way?

Yes here is another screenshot it does run in admin mode this way right ?
arrgh its so annoying the overlay is not working for any nglide games although the logo shows up, before it used to work

Also i found the log file in the steam folder that mentioned gta , does it indicate anything zeus ? gameoverlay renderer cant attach it here

I also had this message but once I launched Steam as an admin overlay started to work properly. What's your exe version? Mine is 9.6.0.0 (you can check version in .exe Properties / Details tab / File version field).

same this is so odd, now none of the games with glide aka 3dfx are getting the overlay f-16, mig 29, gta 2, i have downloaded another game stalker call of pripyat and it requires steam to be launched as admin for overlay to work and overlay works in there afterwards.
