Well, the glide patch is not-so-usable w/o direct3d output patch.
Surface does not scale at all. Overlay does not scale hi/true-color modes. Opengl and openglnb are glitchy on ATi legacy cards...
Asus P4P800 SE/Pentium4 3.2E/2 GB DDR400 (3-3-3-8),
Radeon HD3850 AGP (Sapphire), Catalyst 14.4 (XpProSp3).
2 Voodoo2 12 MB (SLI), Win2k drivers 1.02.00 (XpProSp3).

Funny that. On my Intel HD Laptop (yes, INTEL graphics) - opengl and 3dfx is fine. But Direct3D (with filters) and DDraw (no filters) remain the fastest.

Oh right. I started making a new build, but in my testing I found that ykhwong's build was always faster and more compatible. This may be because his latest build (which has been updated since my last reply here) has some new unique code posted on the VOGONS DOSBox Patch's section that is specific to GNU C(++) but I use VisualC which is incompatible with this new custom code.

In summary, I recommend the latest build by ykhwong for 3DFX DOSBox :)

Output=direct3d is not compatible with nGlide. *censored*

This build has fixed the FB troubles with DOSBox-nGlide combo. Tests #11, #12, #26 are working correctly now.
Emu mode is still bugged:
  • With core=dynamic tests #7, #9, #10, #15, #16, #18 are broken.
  • FB tests are broken (#11, #12, #25 (F key), #26).
  • Test #28 is broken.

In 2-3 days I retest my DOS glide list with this build...

Radeon HD3850 AGP (Sapphire), Catalyst 14.4 (XpProSp3).

What do you mean? Did you set fullscreen to true?

Yes.
3dfx logo, then - black screen and no keyboard response, as example - Ctrl+F9 etc. Windows keys only...
Looks like SDL trouble, with SET SDL_VIDEODRIVER=directx the problem is fixed.

Hmm..strange..
Maybe that's another Radeon X850 issue (this time with SDL).
For me it's working fine (Radeon HD 5670 and GeForce GTS 450).

BTW. Are you using latest version of this build?

It's not SDL trouble. DirectX is the default video driver for DOSBox's SDL (and for all SDL builds on Windows AFAIK), since you checked out of the SVN my guess is that you forgot to disable debugging, or the developers have changed it to windib video driver intentionally for some bugfixing.

With that said, if DOSBox is using the old-and-compatible windib driver instead of the new-and-normal DirectX driver, then the SDL backend doesn't try to probe for Direct3D at all. Also, the DDraw output will be running in Software Emulation mode (read: slow) if it works at all.
