Re: any way to remove the 60 fps cap ? causes tearing on CRT
if your fps is below the refresh rate, unless it matches exactly a "fraction of a fps", like having exactly 2 times, 3 times, 4 times, and so on less fps than the refresh rate, so the same frame is rendered multiple times. . Windows Vista doesn't "have" triplebuffering This is a...

Re: any way to remove the 60 fps cap ? causes tearing on CRT
[quote="Zeus"]Hi AngEviL. (some frames are just drawn more than once) This is one of the risks with doublebuffered vsync, and is partly why the frame rate drops in divisors with vsync enabled, but a triplebuffered vsync should discard the unrequired frames or display them as needed when un...

Re: any way to remove the 60 fps cap ? causes tearing on CRT
Since you seem to know things more in-depth, i am surprised you claim that tearing does not occur when the fps is lower than the refresh rate. If a monitor is running at 60hz, then anything below 58fps and above 62fps causes visible tearing, regardless if it's an LCD or CRT. It is true that if the ...

Re: Nglide with ATi legacy cards.
I don't use core=auto, only the core=max (or core=40000 for the Screamer 2 and Screamer rally setups). Core=dynamic - again, used by default on the test PC. And - the test PC is just Prescott 3Hz, so - "are slow" is the normal result. :) The lowest results are in the Lands of Lore: Guardi...

Re: any way to remove the 60 fps cap ? causes tearing on CRT
I appreciate the help, and i agree with you Squall Leonhart about the fps not matching exactly the refresh rate, however, when the difference is bigger than 2 fps between the game fps and the monitor refresh rate, tearing does occur. In this case, the frame rate is 62 and the refresh rate is either...

Re: Several Problems
Sorry for reviving such an old thread. But do any of you guys who have problems with those Quake 2 and Quake 3-engine games by any chance have an ATI card? On my computer almost no Quake engine games of any sort works with Catalyst newer than 10.4. The solution is to put atioglxx.dll from the catal...

Re: Nglide with ATi legacy cards.
Ok, several DOS glide games had been tested. CosmicDan's build is used (the best results with the cycles=max). Almost all of these games are too slow in the DosBox. Thats probably because of dosbox itself. the auto cycles setting doesn't work properly on any of them (even trunk) when set to auto co...

Re: any way to remove the 60 fps cap ? causes tearing on CRT
Hi and thanks a lot for the work. Only because of nglide i am enjoying some old games again. I have a CRT monitor and here is screen tearing, because there is a cap of 60fps in games, and i use refresh rates like 75hz or 90hz with vsyinc on. To eliminate tearing, the monitor refresh rate has to mat...

Re: nGlide and DOSBox
windows 7 and a core i7 920 at 3.8Ghx
the issue is an odd one
main dosbox has a similar issue with not raising the cycles high enough when it switches automatically from auto to max.
