Re: nGlide and DOSBox

Clarification: by "my old build", I was referring to "DOSBox SVN Build by CosmicDan" relative to other 3DFX-enabled builds of DOSBox i.e ykhwong's, "UBER" build or gulikoza's. Was not talking about the different render engines provided by a certain game.

Re: nGlide and DOSBox

...just an FYI to all those subscribed to the thread. I have been informed that my old build is actually the fastest option for many people. As such, I plan to make a new build very soon. Will let you know when it's ready :)

Re: grand theft auto 2?

Sounds like you have a pirated version, or the official Freeware release which has Glide driver ripped out (and an updated DIrect3D driver for modern machines). I know it's illegal to download the original ISO (lame I know considering the re-release is freeware), but try with the very original GTA2 ...

Re: dx5/6/7/8/9-->10.1 wrapper

This is the kind of thing that has many of us wanting WINE (the Windows "emulator" for Windows) built and working in Windows. WINE has a Direct3D9 (and below) wrapper to OpenGL which is very mature. The objective you are thinking would be to play Win9x games on extremely modern machines, r...

Re: Shadow Warrior

I agree with using SWP. It's a source-port, running under native Windows. Awesome graphics, nice speed and sound, it also fixes many bugs. I didn't even know the original Shadow Warrior had 3DFX! Are you sure it's not an experimental patch like what Blood had? If it is, I think it would not be worth...

Re: 3Dfx is gone... but never forgotten

That seriously brought a tear to my eye... all those wow moments of 3DFX as a kid, it'd turn your PC into an amazing spectacle.... it just ain't the same any more....!

Re: nGlide and DOSBox

Hey no problem Zeus, thanks for the wrapper =) Credits to gulikoza though I just figured out how to compile :lol: Greetings gulikoza :mrgreen: I can provide updated patches and binaries if desired for the latest CVS builds soon, with SDL_Sound providing the OGG-in-cuesheet capability (MP3 still appe...
