Yes, DirectX 'threads' things on your own. This game has high requirements because it changes palettes very often (for palette textures). 32-Bit Texture Quality and 1280x1024 on a Glide2 game

No, 3Dfx2 means Glide3, not Glide2, so it's possible.

BTW. Game crashes even in Glide2 mode at 640x480. This game worked fine in the past, but stopped working in XP Service Pack 2 or 3. More tests must be taken.
