It would have been better IMO if left at 40 fps without sacrificing accuracy (virtualization is already a nice performance boost). The current state isn't good for playability (Pył heavy relies on lights) and preservation. Performance results cannot be compared with DOSBox atm as only the latter can...

Did you select 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 resolution in Graphics options? If so, you need to change it to something smaller. These two were always screwed up with 3dfx Glide renderer.

When i force resolution through nGlide configuration, i end up with some sort of pixel-wide border at the left and top edges of the screen that don't seem to update properly. Fixed . The other glitch occurs when you're looking through a small opening, or a slit of some sort, a surface or an object ...

Nope. Disabling access to depth buffer can give you couple fps but it makes the game to render incorrectly. Light sources, special effects and enemies visiblity all rely on it.
