nGlide is a 3Dfx Voodoo Glide wrapper which means it 'emulates' 3Dfx Glide Library, so you don't need to have a 3Dfx Voodoo card to play games written for Glide API. Both versions of Glide API are supported, Glide2 (glide2x.dll) and Glide3 (glide3x.dll). nGlide translates all Glide callings to Direct3D, which is supported by almost all today's graphics cards. For the most games (running at full speed) this configuration is good enough.


Run the nGlideXXX_setup.exe and click the Install button. That's all. Now you can play your 3Dfx Glide games.

Q: Where's the configuration application for this wrapper? A: Our goal was to build a wrapper that works accurately for every game like an original driver. Also with no additions not existed in real driver (like hi-res resolutions), so configuration application is not needed. Still you can change britness/contrast parameters in your graphics card configuration program.

Q: I have a Glide game which won't work/have bugs on this wrapper. What can I do? A: Send to us an e-mail/post the topic in the forum with game title, operating system version, graphics card name/model, nGlide version and of course full problem/bug description. Good idea is to attach some screenshots.

Q: How to set Windows 95 Compatibility Mode? A: Right click on the game .exe file and click Properties. Select Compatibility tab, and choose 'Windows 95' from the list. Click Apply and OK button.

Q: How to Disable desktop composition? A: Right click on the game .exe file and click Properties. Select Compatibility tab, and check 'Disable desktop composition' option. Click Apply and OK button.

Q: My Glide game is working too fast. A: Go into your graphics driver configuration window and enable 'force vertical synchronization' option.

Q: How to make a game patch by yourself? A: 1) Download and install Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit 5.0.
2) Run Compatibility Administrator.
3) Click 'Fix' button. Enter game name and browse game exe file.
4) In the 'Compatibility Fixes' dialog try selecting some of these fixes:
'CorrectFilePaths', 'EmulateGetDiskFreeSpace', 'GlobalMemoryStatusLie', 'EmulateDirectDrawSync', 'EmulateEnvironmentBlock', 'EmulateHeap', 'EmulateFindHandles', 'SingleProcAffinity'. Make sure you have unchecked 'DisableBoostThread' fix.
5) Save your patch to *.sdb file.
6) Make install batch file (PatchInstall.bat with content: sdbinst.exe -q yourpatch.sdb).
7) Make uninstall batch file (PatchUninstall.bat with content: sdbinst.exe -u -q yourpatch.sdb).
