nGlide is a 3Dfx Voodoo Glide wrapper. It 'emulates' 3Dfx Glide Library, so you don't need a 3Dfx Voodoo graphics card to play 3Dfx Glide API games. Both versions of APIs are supported, Glide2 (glide2x.dll) and Glide3 (glide3x.dll). nGlide translates all Glide callings to Direct3D. Glide wrapper also supports high resolution modes. For the most games (running at full speed) this configuration is good enough.


Run the nGlideXXX_setup.exe and click the Install button. That's all. Now you can play your 3Dfx Glide games.

Q: I have a Glide game which won't work/have bugs on this glide wrapper. What can I do? A: Send to us an e-mail/post the topic in the forum with game title, operating system version, graphics card name/model, nGlide version and of course full problem/bug description. Good idea is to attach some screenshots.

Q: Is nGlide supports DOS Glide games? A: Yes, but not in native Windows environment. You must install DOSBox with Gulikoza patch. After installation delete glide2x.dll file from DOSBox directory (if any), install nGlide and run DOS games from DOSBox console. There are 2 compilations: made by Gulikoza (http://www.si-gamer.net/gulikoza/) and made by CosmicDan (http://www.zeus-software.com/files/nglide/dosbox-2010-03-22-custom-glide.zip).
Note that not all DOS Glide games are working yet with this solution.

Q: How to disable 3Dfx logo splash screen? A: Delete 3DfxSpl2.dll and 3DfxSpl3.dll files from x:\windows\system32 (32-bit OS) or
x:\windows\syswow64 (64-bit OS).

Q: How to make a game patch by yourself? A: 1) Download and install Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit 5.0.
2) Run Compatibility Administrator.
3) Click 'Fix' button. Enter game name and browse game exe file.
4) In the 'Compatibility Fixes' dialog try selecting some of these fixes:
'CorrectFilePaths', 'EmulateGetDiskFreeSpace', 'GlobalMemoryStatusLie',
'EmulateDirectDrawSync', 'EmulateEnvironmentBlock', 'EmulateHeap',
'EmulateFindHandles', 'SingleProcAffinity'. Make sure you have unchecked 'DisableBoostThread' fix.
5) Save your patch to *.sdb file.
6) Make install batch file (PatchInstall.bat with content: sdbinst.exe -q yourpatch.sdb).
7) Make uninstall batch file (PatchUninstall.bat with content: sdbinst.exe -u -q yourpatch.sdb).
